    вартість, до якої зросте в майбутньому вкладена сума грошей з урахуванням відсоткової ставки; має таку формулу підрахунку:
    FV = P(1 + R)ⁿ,
    де P — основна сума (principal¹), R — річна відсоткова ставка, n — кількість років ♦ вдало вкладена сума грошей в майбутньому забезпечить дохід; напр.: 1000 грн вкладено в банк під 12 % річної ставки; майбутня вартість інвестиції (investment³) через рік становитиме 1120 грн, тобто 1000 грн принесе 120 грн доходу за перший рік

    PV = FV ÷ (1+R)n,
    де FV — майбутній прибуток, R — процент або ставка дисконту, n — кількість років або періодів; ♦ теперішня вартість використовується як показник, за яким порівнюється прибутковість різних проектів (project) та інвестицій за певний період
